With the cold front moving out and the Spring weather here to stay, the bite has been steady. Redfish are still in their Spring patterns. We have been locating them on the flats and the local jetties. Live shrimp under corks and quartered blue crab on Carolina rigs has been the go to baits. Fish these rigs close to structure on the flats or under docks. A decent trout bite has been happening on the deeper marsh cuts. Float live shrimp under a cork at higher tides. We were able to venture out to the nearshore wrecks and ledges recently. They did not disappoint. They were full of life. Grouper, variety of snapper, triggerfish, mackerel and many other fish were stacked up there. Frozen squid and live mullet were the key baits. We are looking forward to getting out there once grouper season opens. Call us today to get on the books and lets go catch em’!!

A cold front brought strong winds and much cooler weather to the area for a couple days. We were still able to get out and find hungry fish that were out of the wind. They are still in their Spring time patterns. We had to bounce around to a few different areas until we found a school of fish that wanted to eat. Once we located them, there were multiple double and triple hookups with fish of all sizes! The redfish are still being caught using live shrimp under corks and on carolina rigs under docks or against mud flats with oyster beds close by. There can be multiple schools of fish in the same area, so be careful when approaching a spot. Try not to spook a school! Big trout are starting to be caught in deeper water cuts and a long deep water grass lines with oysters at the base of them. It is not uncommon to find trout in the 20+ inch range! We typically catch these with live shrimp on slip corks so we can adjust the depth depending on where the fish are staging. Give us a call or message ASAP to get on the books!!!!

The water keeps getting warmer and the fishing keeps getting better! This couple is showing off one of the many double hookups we had that day! The red drum have started to kick into their spring time patterns. We are finding smaller schools of hungry fish ready to take our baits. Shrimp and mud minnows have been the go to for the past few weeks. We will either use a Zman Redfish Eye jig head to put the baits on the bottom or use slip corks to float across the flats. Both methods have proved successful. Mixed in with these fish are nice black drum. They are always a pleasant surprise when you hook into one. Trout and sheepshead have also been around. The trout are primarily around deeper structure in 8-12 ft of water. The bull reds are starting to make an appearance in the harbor and along our jetties. You can catch these drag screaming giants on the bottom with cut bait using a Carolina rig. We suggest a 8/0 circle hook and enough weight on a fish finder rig to keep the bait on the bottom in the current. As we continue into Spring, we only expect the bite to get better! We will be seeing the toothy critters showing up soon as well! Book us today to get out on our beautiful waters and lets catch some fish!!

Cooler mornings have led to warm beautiful afternoons and the fishing is terrific. This trip’s clients wanted to find some big redfish. We did exactly that. With 9 reds over 30 inches and one doozy of a 46 inch bull red in 2 hours, they were wiped out! Early spring has the bulls hanging out at the local jetties amd other known areas for bulls to be found. Live bait on the bottom or floated under corks in these areas have been the proven tacting. Be sure to have the correct size tackle to tame these big fish!!

The Spring weather has set in and water temperatures are on the rise making the fishing outstanding. Todays water temperature was hovering right around 61 degrees. We have been finding the redfish still schooled up on the flats and around shallow structure all throughout the Charleston Harbor and surrounding rivers. They have started to break into their smaller Spring time schools, but are still easy to find since the water has been clear. Bait has started to flood into the creeks. You can find mullet, blue crab, glass minnows and other common baits seen on the flats relatively easily and the schooling reds are not far behind. Shrimp, cut mullet, and mud minnows under corks on a 2/0 circle hook have been the go to baits. If artificial is your game, be looking for the more natural colors such as the Zman minnowz or jerk shad in houdini or pinfish colors. Redfish toad has been working well in the more discolored water. Trout have started to show up as well. Be looking for them along steeper banks with structure. 7-12 feet has been the magic number for us. A slip cork is best with shrimp or mud minnows. Using these slip corks will allow you to adjust to the depth you need once you find where the trout are eating. In the artificial category, vudu shrimp under popping corks and Zman minnowz on a 1/4 oz Trout Eye have been working great. If you are able to venture out to the reefs, the sheephead bite has been on fire. They have been eating live shrimp and fiddlers dropped down to the bottom.

Get a trip on the books with us ASAP if you want to get out in the creeks and on some fish!! We are booking up quick!

Warmer days are finally here and the fishing continues to get better. The water temperature is hovering right around 56 degrees and the fish are loving it. We are primarily focused on schools of Redfish in the shallow water flats. You can locate them much easier this time of the year as they will typically be in schools of 25 or more and the clear water makes spotting them very easy. Mixed in with these schools of redfish you can find black drum. They put on a great fight and are delicious fried. Both these fish are chomping on live shrimp under slip corks. You can find these shrimp in the deep hole areas of the Charleston Harbor or the local tackle shop. If live bait is not your thing, we are catching plenty of fish on artificials as well. Our go to is a zman jerk shad or paddle tail in the Dark N’ Stormy or Fried Chicken colors. Trout are starting to show up in their normal spring time patterns. You can find them around shell banks and other structure in 5-9 feet. Target them with live shrimp and popping corks. They will also hit the same type of artificials as the redfish on the flats, however; you will want to move them more sporadically to engage the reaction bite from the trout.

The weather will only continue to get warmer and the fish will fully transition into their spring time patterns. Give us a call to get on the water! We will teach you and your group the techniques we use in order to be successfull!
